9 Reasons You Shouldn’t Buy This Book

1. You’re still reeling from the genealogical discovery that George W. Bush is a distant cousin of Al Gore.
2. Thinking about genetic inheritance will cause you to once again wonder what possible use your ancestors had for knuckle hair.
3. You think a Pedigree is awarded to feet specialists
4. You’re my sister.
5. Your time is better served cleaning the algae from your gene pool.
6. You’re a member of Biblio-holics Anonymous and reading this book would tempt you to read more books.
7. You won’t read any book that doesn't include a signed bookplate from the author. (Hey, that can be corrected!)
8. You’ve concluded that it wasn’t nature or nurture that shaped you most, but the self-imposed steady diet of Gilligan’s Island, Scooby-Do and Star Wars films you viewed throughout your formative years.
9. You don’t like novels that conclude with hope and poignancy.

Okay, since you suffered through all of that, how bout I give out a prize! It is day three of the Janeology birthday party and I'm glad you stopped by again. Since you obviously aren't buying MY book (wink) and you probably want to write YOUR own, today's prize is a beautiful leather bound writing journal just like the ones I use. These are my favorite journals because they snap close and you can stuff them with all the notes and napkins that you've scratched out your ideas on. Plus, they make you look very smart when you are carrying them.

Leave me a comment and tell me about something you've always wanted to write - or perhaps wanted someone else to write about. Leave your email address to be entered to win. U.S. Residents only. Comment and giveaway period open through April 10th.
Click here to read an excerpt of Janeology.

And check out my other birthday week posts and leave comments plus your email address for a chance to win a copy of Janeology! Good luck.

I didn't know George Bush and Al Gore were distant cousins. Shocking! It's a good thing I don't like either;-) I'd love to win the journal.

I've always wanted to write about my life, my life story...during nanowrimo I did! I was thinking about editing it and posting it in installments on my blog....still haven't gotten around to editing though :)

That journal is really cool!

#7 definitely applies to me - I know a local author (whose book I DID buy) who needs to sign it!

I would really like to write about my total cancer experience. Although I wrote the short family version, I'd really like to get everything out of my system!

#5. Too funny!
There are several stories that my maternal grandmother told me that I would love to write some day, but I'd also like to write something about my paternal grandmother, who was a faith healer.

I have always wanted someone to write about how hard it is to have your heart broken when the child you thought would be born whole, unfortunately is not. I would love to win this journal!

Something I've always wanted to write ... a book of essays on the combo of career life and domestic life...also including humor.

NOW you give me nine reasons why I shouldn't have bought your book! Exquisite timing!

I always wanted to write a "What If?" alternative history of World War II. Too late-- it's been done, and is being done. Besides, I have another iron in the fire...

Wow, what a great giveaway! I've always wanted to finish one of my unfinished novels...whether its that romance I started ages ago or the paranormal tattoo artist story or that crime novel. It's been a long road and these have been shoved in a drawer. This year its the poetry manuscript, so I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

thanks for the giveaway!

I've had characters in my head for years, and I wish I'd just break down and write about them already!

What a great giveaway. Thanks!

I have always wanted to write my life story.

I have learned it's possible to become not what you know, but what you dream and I want everyone to know this truth. That's what I am working on.

Love that journal! :)

I would really like to leave some memories of my youth, my thoughts and feelings, etc. for my children. Having something like that from my own parents means more to me than just about anything.
