Wordless Wednesday: Camping

This past weekend, I went on a wonderful Girl Scout Camp Out with my girls and about 30 other Girl Scouts and moms near Lake Texoma. Sleeping in tents amongst these trees was a sublime sound to fall asleep under. Also, it rained on Sunday morning and you could actually hear the rain approaching, which is something I'd never experienced.

Our accommodations included tents on platforms. We named ours The Villa.

Another Villa.

My girl taking an archery lesson.

View from my villa.

The girls assembled and painted birdhouses.
Lots of butterflies.

  1. That looks like a grand way to relax and get away from it all.

  2. Kathy,

It really was. Lots of work for the moms, but it created a great memory.

  4. Caite - Ha ha! That is true. I'm not an eager camper, but I'm glad I've done it a few times. I'd personally rather be at the beach...

  5. Looks like a great adventure. I adore those birdhouses.

I've done a lot of camping in my day -- much rougher than this and backpacking. I love it.
