A poet is a man who manages, in a lifetime of standing out in thunderstorms, to be struck by lightning five or six times.

A tree near our house recently took a lightning strike. It's interesting to see how the strike is jagged and cut a gash from top to ground. |
Wow, you must have had quite a storm come through. I guess it's that time of year.
ReplyDeleteReally interesting how it looks like the lightning unzipped part of the tree -- nice photos!
ReplyDeletePoor tree. :(
ReplyDeletegosh, I hate lightning..
ReplyDeletepoor tree.
That is interesting. Hey, look where the lightening entered the ground. Sometimes the heat 'cooks' the soil and forms a stone. They are worth money!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is wild! Luckily it was just the tree, though that's too bad . . .
ReplyDeleteYikes. That's really scary.
ReplyDeleteHey, nice snapshots! It looks like someone took a sword or a razor and just tried to go right down the middle and leave it to die! The same nature that gives us our greenery, is the same one thats out to kill them, it seems.
